1931
The trained wholesaler for stationery, Oskar Hans Werm, founded a whole sale for stationery in Frankfurt am Main.
1932
His wife Maria becomes co-partner of the business. From that time the business traded under the name Oskar und Maria Werm. The most important trading good are stationery and packagings.
1939 - 1948
When the second word war started it was Oskar Hans Werm duty to be a soldier. In this time his wife leaded the company with great efforts.
1944
The corporate building was totally destroyed when also great parts of Frankfurt were destroyed by an air strike. It remains just burned out ruins. The business people feel impelled to move their company to Lower Franconia. Business is done there until 1948.
1948
Just before the currency reform in 1948, founder Oskar Hans Werm moves back from Lower Franconia to his hometown Frankfurt. According to the hard circumstances of the postwar period the company was rebuilt there.
1954
The son Oskar Werm joins the business as skilled wholesaler.
1960
Daughter in law Maria Werm joins the company.
1969
The married couple Oskar and Maria Werm senior handing over the company their son and his wife for reasons of age.
1970 - 1975
The married couple passed away totally unexpected in the beginning of the 70ies.
1976
Only few days after the tragedy the son and his wife take over the company.
1981
Relocation to bigger office and stock premises to “Hinter die schöne Aussicht”. The new complex of buildings was modified and newly equipped.
Besides stationary, cosmetics and pyrotechnic, the import and export has been intensified.
1981
Celebration of the companies 50th anniversary.
1991
Son Frank Werm and daughter Simone Werm joining the business after successful apprenticeship and study.
Through the adaption of new computing systems the expansion of the business is focused.
1994
Expansion of the assortment of good with low-price-items from Far East.
1995
Brother in law Andreas Ritschel joins the company. He is responsible for purchasing the low-price-items.
1995
In the same year a new warehouse was built in Lower Franconia.
1996
The second warehouse was built in Lower Franconia.
The entire low-price-item assortment is moved from Frankfurt to a branch establishment in Lower Franconia. There the items are picked and delivered.
Low-Price-Items are presented in a new showroom.
Relocation of the headquarter in Frankfort. The complete business moves in new stock, office and sales premises in Adam-Opel-Strasse.
1999
The company Osma-Werm GmbH is managed extensively in third generation and is proud of the good-working family business.
2003
Purchase of the rented premises in Karlstadt. This company site comprises up to 5-storey high-bay warehouses on an area of approx. 5,000 sqm and a 3-storey office building.
2004
Relocation of the head office from Frankfurt to Lower Franconia to the new property in Karlstadt am Main.
A branch office, namely the purchasing office with the three-person purchasing team for small-price items and imports, will be maintained near the closed Frankfurt branch.
2005
Relocation and enlargement of the showroom.
On the top floor of the office building, a new showroom is being set up on 280 square metres. This shows the entire assortment of over 4,000 articles. In addition to the main sample room for small-price articles with the categories household, decoration, tools, stationery, toys and food, there is a room for small-price cosmetics, one for brand cosmetics and a Christmas and Easter sample room.
2007
The successful senior management Oskar and Maria Werm hand over the business to their children Frank Werm and Simone Ritschel. However, they continue to be active in the company in an advisory capacity.
2011-2012
Expansion and construction of further warehouses with a mobile racking system in Karsbach with a total storage area of approx. 5,000 sqm. Seasonal goods and brand cosmetics are stored here.
2018-2020
Construction of a new administration building, building 2, in Karsbach.
In the course of the expansion, the infrastructure at the site is also being further expanded. In addition to the existing building, a new office and logistics building with a usable area of 2,000 square meters is being built in Karsbach.
